About the role

This is a key leadership role looking after the financial control function reporting to the well-regarded Finance Director. Managing a large sized team, you will be responsible for the overall financial management of the organisation ensuring month end deadlines are met with balance sheet accuracy. You will be proven at achieving results through leading a finance team by providing direction, motivation, clear communication, mentorship, and prioritisation. This role requires an experienced ASX listed controller with a track record of driving change for function improvement.

  • Oversee the financial control team and help drive improvements through the function
  • Manage P&L, balance sheet & cash flow in accordance with IFRS and audit requirements
  • Manage the month-end timetable ensuring accurate and timely deliverables
  • Manage the governance and reporting process to fulfil statutory obligations
  • Deliver the group audit in-line with annual plan and existing processes
  • Contribute to the preparation of board and executive reports
  • Responsible for financial planning and analysis, forecasting, and budgeting
  • Business partner to deliver annual reporting requirements in an organised and timely manner
  • Coach and mentor the team to drive positive outcomes in the business both operationally and commercially
  • Drive process improvement for longstanding function efficiencies
Skills and Experience
  • CA / CPA Qualified
  • 7+ years’ experience in a similar position
  • Significant exposure to accounting in a Big-4 / Mid-tier environment
  • Strong technical finance experience
  • Retail background preferred, particularly food and beverage
  • Proven experience leading and developing a high performing team
  • Proven ability and success in delivering change
  • Excellent communication skills
  • Ability to work in a high change, transformational, complex environment
  • Self-motivated and resilient to drive function improvement
