The Position 

Reporting to the Senior HR Manager, you will provide professional and efficient HR advice and support for the Eastern operations and manage one direct report; a talented HR Coordinator. Your influencing, technical skills, consultation and advice will contribute to teams and culture initiatives company-wide across Head Office and regional operations. This role will cover a 12 month maternity leave period and you will have the opportunity to work with and learn from a very close-knit team who are proud to have been nominated for a bunch of HR awards due to their innovation and collaboration. There may be opportunities to extend to permanency beyond the initial 12 month contract duration. Key Responsibilities
  • Contribute to the development, implementation and evaluation of strategic human resources plans and policies that support the organisation’s mission, vision and guiding principles;
  • In conjunction with the Senior HR Manager, lead enterprise bargaining discussions and follow FWC processes including lodgement of EA applications;
  • Provide coaching and advice to leaders on policy matters related to workforce management including recruitment, establishment, employee performance, teamwork, organisational structure, industrial matters, and resolution of grievances, disciplines and complaints;
  • Coordinate and take carriage of the end-to-end recruitment process for identified roles across the business including scoping of roles, approval to hire, agreeing recruitment strategy with hiring manager, advertising roles on job boards, screening, shortlisting and interviewing candidates, managing the offer process, working with IT support to ensure equipment and accesses are ready for the employee’s start date;
  • Oversee the pre-employment and random drug and alcohol testing for all employees.
Skills and Experience
  • Tertiary qualifications in human resources, management or related business discipline;
  • Demonstrated experience as a HR Advisor or HR Business Partner in a multi-site business, with exposure to most facets of the employment life cycle;
  • Team player attitude with an approachable and professional demeanour to all people always;
  • Experience with employment relations or industrial relations.
