The Opportunity

An exciting opportunity has become available for a HR Generalist to join a global industrial business in a standalone, 5 day onsite role based in Dandenong. Reporting into the VP HR – APAC, this position will be responsible for managing the full employee lifecycle across a blue-collar workforce, along with ownership of the end-to-end payroll process.

Key Responsibilities
  • Manage end-to-end recruitment, onboarding, and offboarding for both permanent and temp staff
  • Prepare employment contracts, job descriptions, policies, and performance documentation
  • Oversee training needs, performance cycles, and support managers with disciplinary processes
  • Administer the performance review process including salary reviews and bonus payments
  • Own the payroll process (fortnightly and monthly), including all calculations and statutory payments
  • Maintain HR and payroll systems (Employment Hero) and provide relevant reporting
  • Support EBA negotiations, return-to-work coordination, and WorkCover compliance
  • Prepare HR budgets, headcount reports, and ensure employee records are compliant
  • Collaborate on annual and ad-hoc HR projects across APAC and global teams
What You’ll Bring
  • 3–5 years’ experience in a HR Generalist role, ideally in a manufacturing or blue-collar environment
  • Strong understanding of Australian employment legislation, NES, Awards, and EBAs
  • Experience with HRIS and payroll systems (Employment Hero or similar preferred)
  • Exceptional attention to detail, organisational skills, and initiative
  • Comfortable working in a standalone HR function with a hands-on approach
  • Previous payroll experience highly regarded but not essential
  • A collaborative, adaptable mindset and passion for continuous improvement
