The Position 

The HSEQ Coordinator will be responsible for driving continuous improvement in Quality, Safety & Environment. Working closely with the HSEQ Manager, Site Manager, and all site employees, you will ensure implementation of site safety systems in line with corporate strategy and ensure compliance with current certification of ISO accreditations and HACCP. The role will be required to support the Production & Manufacturing teams with hazard identification and management, continuous improvement and ensure reporting of incidents and action outcomes are completed in a timely fashion. You will be responsible for coordinating Quality, Safety & Environment issues, committees and training and rehabilitation of any employee that may have suffered a work-related injury.
  
Key Responsibilities
  • Quality – ensure daily product sampling tests are completed and reported on as required, and investigate both internal and external quality complaints;
  • Environment – promote the reduction of the environmental footprint of site operations, abide by the company’s Integrated Management System, and coordinate rehabilitation for any worker that sustains a work-related injury;
  • Safety – lead risk assessments and advise on the process and associated hazard control measures, and manage safety, environment and training budgets;
  • Engage in external compliance audits as required;
  • Challenge current and future systems to ensure focus is outcome driven with both qualitative and quantitative metrics.
Skills and Experience
  • Demonstrated experience as an HSEQ Coordinator within the resources sector;
  • Tertiary qualifications in Occupational Health & Safety combined with qualifications in auditing, rehabilitation and return to work, incident and investigation, drug and alcohol testing, training & assessment and laboratory analysis.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills and ability to influence, lead, coach and develop others;
  • Proficiency with HRIS and WHS management systems.
