- Work effectively to support the Director - Store Operations and be a leader to his/her staff.
- Achieve a substantial and increasing market share in the area by promoting sales and maintaining good consistent store standards and customer relations.
- Develop a team spirit in the stores that leads to an atmosphere of professionalism, pride, loyalty and, above all, ownership.
- Develop, lead and motivate a capable team of store staff of the highest quality and standard.
Duties and responsibilities:
Decision-Making Responsibility
- Recruit, locate and terminate Store Assistants.
- Promotion of store staff to Store Management Trainee or Store Deputy status.
- Expense authorisation for Store Management and staff within guidelines.
- Designate key holders.
Consulting Responsibility
- Recommend to the Director- Store Operations when Store Management should be promoted or terminated.
- Ensure information essential for Store Managers to carry out their responsibilities is communicated to them.
- Recommend new products and those which should be discontinued.
Responsibility of Action
- Exercise the right to suspend Store Management for serious misconduct pending investigation.
- Manage store resources effectively and monitor staff training, development and performance.
- Encourage, train, motivate and develop store staff, particularly Store Managers and Assistant Store Managers, so they reach their full potential. Ensure the same happens on all hierarchy levels within the stores.
