About the role:
Reporting to the Finance Manager, this Management Accountant role is a critical part of the finance team. You will be responsible for the accurate and timely review of financial results across multiple profit and cost centres, supporting senior leadership and operational teams through detailed reporting, performance analysis, and continuous process improvement.
Responsibilities:
- Manage month-end processes including preparation and posting of journals for assigned business units.
- Conduct detailed analysis of monthly results, providing insights and recommendations.
- Review and amend balance sheet reconciliations, ensuring data integrity across general and subsidiary ledgers.
- Deliver timely weekly and monthly profitability and sales reports to senior management.
- Support operational stakeholders with performance analysis and reporting needs.
- Contribute to compliance requirements including year-end audit preparation and working capital controls.
- Oversee elements of banking, debtor management, and fixed asset register administration.
- Participate in process improvement initiatives and support system enhancements.
- CA/CPA qualified with a Bachelor of Business/ Accounting (or equivalent).
- Minimum 3 years' experience in a management accounting role, ideally with full P&L responsibility across business units.
- Strong analytical skills and a proactive approach to communication and problem-solving.
- Intermediate to advanced Excel skills or Power BI
- Excellent stakeholder management skills and the ability to engage finance and non-finance teams.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to prepare high-quality reporting.
- Demonstrated experience in process improvement and business analytics (highly regarded).
