You will be required to oversee the Service Desk and System Administrators and bring the team up to a high performing service delivery team. You will have very strong system engineering and technical skills (Azure Cloud services) as a priority but also be able to demonstrate a strong service delivery focus. you will work to uplift the way the team provides technical and service support. Having some government experience will be a bonus. You will be commercially astute and bring strong program/project delivery experience.
About the role:
- Ensure the smooth operation of the ICT department in alignment with the business objectives of the organisation. The ICT manager will plan, direct, coordinate and design ICT-related activities, as well as provide administrative direction and support for daily operational activities of the ICT department.
- Demonstrate an authoritative, pro-active approach in dealing with external vendors and outsourced development staff. The role will manage and balance the expectations of the business within staff and resource limitations.
- Provide leadership to ICT operations and infrastructure ensuring that an appropriate technical support framework is in place, including the management and delivery of service support and service delivery.
- Ability to work closely with decision makers in other departments to identify, recommend, develop, implement, and support cost-effective technology solutions.
- Build collaborative relationships with internal and external stakeholders.
- Identify opportunities to ensure value, synergies and innovation is leveraged in current and future services enabled or delivered by the ICT team.
- Managing ICT contracts and vendor management relationships.
- Relevant experience: While there are no mandatory qualifications for this role, experience in information technology support is highly desirable, together with 5 to 7 years’ experience in similar roles. Familiarity with best practice ICT delivery frameworks such as the Information Technology Infrastructure Library (ITIL) desirable.
