My client is a leading not‑for‑profit organisation working at the forefront of landscape restoration, regenerative agriculture and environmental sustainability. With over 15 years of impact, they support landholders to restore natural landscape function, rebuild soil health and biodiversity, and create resilient farming systems that benefit both the environment and the economy.

Their enterprise spans research and education, regenerative agriculture demonstration sites, and specialist consulting services delivering surface and groundwater management solutions nationally. Their work is recognised both nationally and internationally, including within major global sustainability forums.

We’re seeking a Marketing & Communications Lead to lead our brand presence and communications across a growing and multifaceted environmental organisation.
This is a hands‑on role for a strategic thinker and creative storyteller — someone who can build narratives that inspire action, strengthen relationships, and elevate awareness of our mission at a national scale.
You will also contribute to the development of a new three‑year strategic business plan alongside a global consulting partner, before leading end‑to‑end execution of the marketing and communications program.

You’ll manage one direct report, collaborate across diverse internal teams, and work with external contractors as required.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Develop and deliver a marketing and communications strategy aligned with organisational goals
  • Create compelling storytelling to promote impact across research, education, consulting and on‑ground restoration programs
  • Oversee content across website, social media, newsletters, PR, partnerships and donor communications
  • Build strategies to grow our database and social media following
  • Support business development initiatives, fundraising campaigns and donor engagement
  • Promote national education programs, events and training offerings
  • Manage brand identity and ensure consistent messaging across all channels
  • Track, analyse and report on communication and campaign performance
  • Support senior leadership with profile development and thought leadership activity
About You
  • 10+ years’ experience in communications, PR and marketing
  • Experience working on national initiatives and across multidisciplinary environments
  • A proven track record growing digital audiences and databases
  • Strong writing, editing and storytelling skills
  • Experience managing contractors (designers, videographers, copywriters etc.)
  • Ability to operate effectively in a small, dynamic team with many moving parts
  • Passion for environmental impact, sustainability and landscape restoration
  • (Desirable) Experience in the not‑for‑profit sector
  • (Desirable) Experience engaging with multiple audiences — government, researchers, media, ambassadors, donors and community stakeholders
Why Join Us?
  • Contribute to a nationally significant environmental mission with real impact
  • Influence and develop the communications function in a growing organisation
  • Work with a passionate, purpose‑driven team
  • Opportunities to innovate, shape strategy and tell stories that matter
  • Remote - 3 days a week role
  • Up to $130,000 base + super (3 days = Up to $78,000)
