The Role

Reporting through to the Head of Payroll, your tasks will include:
  • Maintain and review Payroll Document Control Register, engaging with document/process owner each review period to ensure compliance with current legislation
  • Work with Payroll Manager to review relevant industrial instruments with payroll data and assess payroll processes and controls
  • Conduct internal reviews or audits periodically to ensure that procedures are followed
  • Work with Payroll Manager and HR Team to proactively manage and respond to Award and legislation changes and interpretation
  • Proactively identifies and escalates payroll errors/ concerns or Award under compliance
  • Support team with troubleshooting queries, and configure and maintain Hours/Leave/Allowance codes
  • Implement and maintain access level governance across the Payroll Team, HR Team, Retail Operations and broader business
  • Implement Award rate changes in both systems each annual review
  • Work with Payroll Manager and Vendors to implement system changes as and when required
  • Generation of ad-hoc reporting as and when required by the P&C Team, Finance and Retail Operations
  • Align closely with SME’s to ensure new reports, systems or processes are in accordance with business requirements
  • Contribute to the design and implementation of T&A and rostering solutions whilst providing ongoing support to streamline T&A, and roster management capabilities – T&A File UAT and system configuration
  • Assist with HRIS implementation – HRIS/Payroll/T&A data interface UAT

Candidate Profile

You will have extensive experience across payroll governance and compliance, along with the following attributes.
  • Strong attention to detail, problem solving, deductive and analytical skills
  • Payroll system configuration and management
  • Strong payroll technical knowledge (eg. understanding of leave accruals, OTE, Super/Tax & LSL legislation)
  • Understanding of how T&A, HRIS and Payroll systems interface
  • Skilled in interpreting and adjusting award configurations in T&A systems
  • Experienced in reviewing/updating procedural documentation
  • Demonstrated capability to identify, implement and optimise HR/Payroll technologies
  • Experienced in working with large volumes of data to identify anomalies
  • Demonstrated ability to manage multiple priorities and projects simultaneously
