Join a leading, long-established global business as a Payroll Manager, overseeing payroll operations for both Australia and New Zealand. This is a hands-on leadership role with a strong focus on compliance, process improvement, and system optimization, offering the chance to work in a supportive and people-focused culture.

Reporting to the Head of P&C, you will manage end-to-end payroll for over 150 permanent staff and up to 1,000 casual employees during peak season. Working closely with senior leaders, finance, and HR, you will ensure payroll accuracy, maintain compliance with multiple awards and agreements, and lead process improvement initiatives.

Key Responsibilities
  • Oversee end-to-end payroll processing for permanent and casual employees across Australia and New Zealand
  • Manage four monthly payroll cycles (AU and NZ, permanent & casual)
  • Supervise and mentor a Payroll Officer, building skills and knowledge within the team
  • Ensure compliance with statutory, regulatory, and contractual requirements across multiple modern awards and classifications
  • Conduct regular payroll audits and ensure employee leave balances and entitlements are accurate
  • Oversee complex calculations for backpays, terminations, redundancies, allowances, and overtime
  • Partner with HR, Finance, and Legal to resolve payroll issues and maintain governance standards
  • Identify opportunities for automation and process improvement
About You
  • Previous experience of 2+ years as a Payroll Manager
  • Minimum 5 years’ experience in end-to-end payroll management
  • Proven experience managing payroll for both permanent and casual staff under multiple awards
  • Previous experience using Micropay & Workday is advantageous
  • Exceptional attention to detail, time management, and confidentiality
  • Skilled in stakeholder engagement with multiple departments
