About the role:
This role will be suited to someone who is energetic, up beat and enjoys working in an environment where no day is the same. This is an exciting retail start up organisation that has experienced huge success in the short time that they have been operating. This is a newly created position, and will be best suited for someone who will thrive working in a smaller environment, is okay working in a payroll environment that's not fully set up, and is keen to get their hands involved with system implementations and improvements. This will be a standalone role looking after a small payroll, however working in a supportive finance team.
On a day to day basis you will be responsible for:
- Ensure payroll is processed in a timely and accurate manner
- Coordinate, direct and control payroll preparation, processing and distribution
- Uphold high customer service standards and protocols across the business
- Develop strong internal and external relationships with key stakeholders
- Work collaboratively and as a team across departments
- Use your system experience to ensure staff are well trained and payroll systems are running at their best
- Identify process improvements and implement these changes using your strong system knowledge
- At least 5 years experience within a similar payroll position
- Strong background using large payroll systems, having xero is an advantage
- Experience managing payroll projects
- Experience working with the retail award is an advantage
- A hands on and proactive attitude to support the payroll function
- Exceptional communication and relationship building skills
