The Organisation
Sharp & Carter is partnering with an iconic & instantly recognisable organisation based in the North-West pocket of Melbourne. In a vital leadership role, our client is looking for an experienced Payroll Manager to take ownership of the payroll function to oversee and enhance operations. Job Duties
Reporting into the CFO, the role will involve taking taking ownership of payroll, with key tasks involving:
  • Develop, mentor and lead one Payroll Officer
  • Manage end-to-end payroll processes with accuracy and efficiency
  • Manage weekly and monthly pay cycles for 300+ employees 
  • Develop and strive for process improvement to improve efficiency
  • Reconciliation of payroll accounts and reporting as required
  • Ensure compliance with all relevant regulations and award interpretations
  • Relevant reporting duties
  • Upholding high customer service standards and protocols across the business
  • Partner and develop strong internal and external relationships with key stakeholders

Candidate Profile
The successful applicant will have proven leadership experience in a similar Payroll Manager position along with the following skills and attributes:
  • Strong stakeholder management and leadership skills with a proven ability to positive influence 
  • Excellent communication skills both written and verbal
  • Comprehensive knowledge of Australian payroll legislation and tax regulations
  • Strong analytical skills with a forward thinking & solution focused mindset 
  • Excellent stakeholder management skills with a proven ability to positive influence
