About the Role
Reporting to the Finance Manager, you will be responsible for the end-to-end payroll function, ensuring accuracy, compliance, and confidentiality. The role also provides occasional coverage for AP/AR when other team members are on leave. This is a part-time position (4 days per week) with a hybrid working model, offering both stability and work-life balance.
Key Responsibilities:
- End-to-end payroll processing for 300 employees (monthly for permanent staff, fortnightly for casuals)
- Coordinate and manage the major annual payroll in December including salary increases
- Ensure accuracy and compliance within their payroll system
- Prepare and reconcile payroll reports in line with internal requirements and legislation
- Respond to payroll queries and provide accurate advice to staff and stakeholders
- Provide AP/AR coverage during team leave periods as required
- Minimum of 4 years’ payroll experience in Australia (experience in education sector desirable)
- Proficiency with Payroll Systems and a strong understanding of debit/credit principles
- High level of accuracy, attention to detail, and reconciliation skills
- Ability to meet deadlines in a timely and professional manner
- Collaborative and approachable with strong communication skills
- Part-time hours working 4 days per work
