Join a leading retailer during an exciting growth phase. Our client is seeking an experienced Payroll Officer to support their busy payroll team through the peak retail period. This is a 3-month temporary assignment with a strong potential to transition to a permanent role for the right candidate! Based in the inner-eastern suburbs with 1 day WFH flex.
About the Role
Reporting to the Payroll Manager, you will take ownership of end-to-end payroll with a high volume of employees. The role will focus primarily on the retail payroll function, managing new starter onboarding, pay runs, reconciliations, and payroll queries.
Key Responsibilities
- Process end-to-end payroll for roughly 2000 employees
- Load new starters and maintain employee data
- Complete pre- and post-payroll checks to ensure data accuracy and compliance
- Interpret relevant awards, particularly GRIA, and apply correctly to payroll calculations
- Manage payroll queries from employees and managers in a timely, professional manner
About You
- Proven experience managing high-volume payroll (retail experience highly regarded)
- Strong working knowledge of Dayforce or other large payroll systems (SAP, PayGlobal, Chris21)
- Solid understanding of GRIA and award interpretation
- Excellent attention to detail, accuracy, and time management skills
- Strong communication and stakeholder engagement abilities
- Proactive, hands-on approach and ability to hit the ground running
- Available for an immediate start
