  • Full-time permanent opportunity - $80,000 - $90,000 + super
  • Located in Melbourne CBD – close to public transport
  • Must have end-to-end payroll experience in a medium to large organisation
About the Company
Our client is a well-established and reputable business with a large workforce and a complex payroll environment. Based in Melbourne CBD, they are known for their strong company culture, supportive finance team and commitment to process improvement. Due to internal movement, they are seeking an experienced Payroll Officer to join the team on a permanent basis.

The Role
Reporting to the Payroll Manager, your responsibilities will include but are not limited to:
• End-to-end processing of a high-volume, fortnightly payroll
• Interpreting multiple EBAs and Awards across different business units
• Handling payroll queries from staff in a timely and professional manner
• Processing new starters, terminations and employee changes
• Ensuring compliance with tax, superannuation, and relevant legislation
• Completing payroll reconciliations and assisting with month-end reporting
• Maintaining employee records and leave accruals accurately
• Supporting the broader payroll and HR team with ad hoc duties as required

The Ideal Candidate
We’re looking for a detail-oriented and proactive payroll professional who thrives in fast-paced environments. You will ideally have:
• At least 3 years’ experience in a similar high-volume, end-to-end payroll role
• Experience using large ERP or payroll systems (e.g. Chris21, SAP, Preceda, Micropay etc.)
• A solid understanding of payroll legislation, tax, super and Fair Work compliance
• Strong communication skills and the ability to manage queries with empathy and professionalism
• Excellent attention to detail and time management skills
• The ability to work well within a collaborative team environment
