Our client is a well-regarded organisation operating within a large and complex payroll environment. With a strong focus on people, accuracy, and continuous improvement, they offer a supportive and collaborative finance function. Due to internal changes, they are seeking an experienced Payroll Officer to join the team on a permanent basis.
This role is based in the inner eastern suburbs, with flexible working arrangements available once training is complete.
About the Role
Working closely with the Payroll Manager, you will play a key role in ensuring the accurate and timely delivery of payroll services across the organisation. This is a hands-on position suited to someone who enjoys ownership and accountability in a high-volume environment.
Key responsibilities include:
- Managing high volume, end-to-end payroll processing on a fortnightly cycle
- Interpreting and applying multiple EBAs and Awards
- Responding to payroll enquiries and resolving issues efficiently
- Processing employee lifecycle changes including onboarding and offboarding
- Ensuring payroll compliance with relevant legislation, tax, and superannuation
- Completing payroll reconciliations and assisting with reporting requirements
- Maintaining accurate payroll data, records, and leave balances
- Providing support across payroll and HR functions as required
You will be a proactive and detail-driven payroll professional who enjoys working in structured yet fast-moving environments. Ideally, you will bring:
- Minimum of 3+ years’ experience in a high-volume, end-to-end payroll role within a medium to large organisation
- Exposure to complex payroll environments and multiple Awards/EBAs
- Experience using payroll or ERP systems such as Chris21, SAP, Preceda, Micropay, or similar.
- Solid understanding of payroll legislation and Fair Work requirements
- Strong communication skills and a professional approach to stakeholder engagement
- Excellent attention to detail and the ability to manage competing deadlines

- Salary range of $80,000–$90,000 + super (depending on experience)
