Our client is a well-established organisation in the not-for-profit / community services industry. They are seeking a dedicated and experienced Payroll Officer to join their supportive Finance team. About the Role:
Reporting to the Senior Payroll Officer, you will be responsible for delivering accurate, compliant, and timely payroll services while supporting the broader Finance and HR teams. Key responsibilities include:
- End-to-end payroll processing using industry-standard payroll systems.
- Maintaining employee payroll data, allowances, deductions, and terminations.
- Preparing and lodging payroll-related statutory returns including PAYGW, superannuation, and STP.
- Administering salary sacrifice arrangements and maintaining reconciliations.
- Delivering payroll system training and support for managers and employees.
- Preparing payroll journals, costing reports, and reconciliations for integration with financial systems.
- Responding to payroll enquiries in a professional and confidential manner.
- Ensuring compliance with employment legislation, awards, and internal policies.
- Proven experience in end-to-end payroll processing in a medium to large organisation.
- Strong knowledge of payroll legislation, awards, superannuation, PAYGW, and FBT.
- Exceptional attention to detail and accuracy.
- Ability to work collaboratively in a team while managing confidential information.
- Confident in supporting managers and employees with payroll systems and processes.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office; experience with payroll software is preferred.
