Our client is a well-established organisation in the not-for-profit / community services industry. They are seeking a dedicated and experienced Payroll Officer to join their supportive Finance team. This is a permanent role in a collaborative environment where attention to detail, compliance, and teamwork are valued.

About the Role:

Reporting to the Senior Payroll Officer, you will be responsible for delivering accurate, compliant, and timely payroll services while supporting the broader Finance and HR teams. Key responsibilities include:
  • End-to-end payroll processing using industry-standard payroll systems.
  • Maintaining employee payroll data, allowances, deductions, and terminations.
  • Preparing and lodging payroll-related statutory returns including PAYGW, superannuation, and STP.
  • Administering salary sacrifice arrangements and maintaining reconciliations.
  • Delivering payroll system training and support for managers and employees.
  • Preparing payroll journals, costing reports, and reconciliations for integration with financial systems.
  • Responding to payroll enquiries in a professional and confidential manner.
  • Ensuring compliance with employment legislation, awards, and internal policies.
About You:
  • Proven experience in end-to-end payroll processing in a medium to large organisation.
  • Strong knowledge of payroll legislation, awards, superannuation, PAYGW, and FBT.
  • Exceptional attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Ability to work collaboratively in a team while managing confidential information.
  • Confident in supporting managers and employees with payroll systems and processes.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office; experience with payroll software is preferred.
  • Exposure to technology one advantageous
