An exciting opportunity exists for an experienced Payroll Project Officer to join a dynamic and fast-paced organisation during a critical period of transformation. This position plays a pivotal dual role, supporting both end-to-end payroll processing and the implementation of a new payroll system.

If you thrive in a detail-focused environment and have a passion for payroll projects and continuous improvement, this is the ideal next step in your payroll career.
Key Responsibilities
Payroll Processing:
- Assist with timely and accurate processing of payroll cycles across a large, multi-site workforce.
- Interpret Awards and EBAs accurately, particularly within the education and care sector.
- Manage salary increases, back payments, leave entitlements, and terminations in compliance with statutory requirements.
- Validate and review payroll data, liaising with internal stakeholders to resolve discrepancies.
- Maintain payroll records and ensure systems are up to date.
- Contribute to the design and implementation of a new payroll system.
- Analyse current payroll practices for efficiency and compliance.
- Work collaboratively with the payroll system vendor to support integration and configuration.
- Assist in the development of procedures, user guides, and training resources.
- Support and participate in system testing and parallel pay runs.
- Assist in team training to ensure a smooth transition.
- Demonstrated experience in full-function payroll processing, ideally in a high-volume environment.
- Demonstrated knowledge of payroll legislation, award interpretation, and enterprise agreements.
- Strong numeracy skills and attention to detail.
- Experience with payroll systems and time & attendance software (e.g., Workday or equivalent).
- Previous involvement in a payroll system implementation or upgrade is highly desirable.
