The Organisation
Our client is an S&P/ASX 300 listed business providing integrated end-to-end asset life-cycle services to utility and telecommunications asset owners. They are on the lookout for a Payroll Specialist who will focus on managing and resolving overpayments. This detail orientated role involves identifying and addressing overpayments and implementing preventive measures to prevent future occurrences.
A focus on continuous improvement is essential, as is critical thinking and problem-solving skills. The ability to manage stakeholders effectively and maintain a strong customer focus ensuring that payroll services meet the needs of both the organisation and its employees.
Responsibilities
- Audit payroll data to identify and resolve overpayments.
- Collaborate with HR and Finance teams to rectify issues and implement preventive measures.
- Provide clear, empathetic communication to employees regarding payroll adjustments.
- Develop strategies for continuous improvement and compliance.
- Support payroll operations, including weekly payroll as a backup.
- Generate reports and analyses for senior leadership.
What We’re Looking For
- 5+ years of payroll experience in a high-volume environment.
- Deep understanding of Australian payroll legislation, PAYG, Payroll Tax, and Superannuation.
- Expertise in managing overpayments and compliance issues.
- Proficiency with tier-1 payroll systems (experience with Chris21 is a plus).
- Advanced Microsoft Excel skills and analytical capabilities.
- Strong communication skills, attention to detail, and a collaborative mindset.
