Our client is a Brisbane CBD based national law firm looking for an experienced People & Culture Business Partner to join the team. Legal or professional services experience essential.

Key responsibilities: 
  • Partner with key stakeholders to understand goals and provide insights and strategies related to workforce planning, performance and organisational development.
  • Analyse workforce data for the purpose of providing insights and advice to the business, improving performance, addressing issues, and identifying trends.
  • Provide advice on the interpretation and application of P&C policies, procedures, agreements, employment conditions and entitlements.
  • Provide support to principals and managers in relation to any disciplinary or employee relations matters, with support from the Head of People & Culture as required.
  • Provide support on employee relations issues in consultation with the Head of People & Culture and any lawyers that may be required.
  • Provide support to the Head of People & Culture on matters relating to performance concerns, disciplinary matters, absenteeism, probation, redundancy, termination, and grievance disputes.
  • Assist with developing, updating, and maintaining appropriate policies and procedures in the context of organisational goals, areas of responsibility and relevant legislation.
  • Coordinate activities associated with the firm’s annual performance and development reviews with a view to fostering talent and building capability.
  • Assist in the design of initiatives and promote activities that increase employee participation and engagement, including change initiatives.
  • Actively contribute to the remuneration review processes for legal and support/corporate services staff in consultation with the Head of People & Culture.
Ideal candidate:
  • Experience working in the Legal industry or professional services
  • Proven experience advising leaders and advising and managing complex people issues.
  • Ability to deal with confidential and sensitive matters.
  • Ability to organise and undertake multiple tasks with competing deadlines whilst applying effective problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Strategic mindset with a proven ability to deliver practical solutions to people-related matters.
  • Ability to analyse key people metrics and data and provide actionable insights
