This role plays a critical part in strengthening portfolio oversight and enabling evidence-based decision-making at executive and governance levels.
About the Role You will lead the design, implementation, and continuous enhancement of performance frameworks, data processes, reporting standards, and governance arrangements that underpin high-quality portfolio management. This role focuses on lifting maturity across key domains including portfolio management, financial management, asset management, contract management, digital enablement and information governance.
Working closely with senior executives, delivery leaders, and strategic stakeholders, you will consolidate and analyse performance data across multiple programs to deliver meaningful insights and reporting that supports strategic investment decisions.
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop, implement, and continually improve portfolio performance and reporting frameworks, standards, and governance structures.
- Coordinate, validate, and analyse performance data across programs and business areas to create a consolidated whole-of-portfolio view.
- Produce high-quality dashboards, reports, and executive briefings that meet internal and external reporting requirements (including Treasury and Cabinet).
- Identify trends, emerging risks, and opportunities using data-driven insights to support proactive investment and delivery decisions.
- Build strong internal and external stakeholder relationships to ensure alignment with organisational priorities.
- Provide expert portfolio performance insights and advice to senior executives and governance committees.
- Lead and mentor team members to uplift capability across data analysis, reporting, and portfolio management practices.

- Advanced knowledge of portfolio, program, and project performance measurement and reporting.
- Experience working within a complex or government environment, ideally involving infrastructure-related portfolios.
- Strong strategic and analytical thinking, with the ability to distil complex data into clear, actionable insights.
- Proven experience leading performance reporting functions and engaging effectively at executive level.
- High-level written and verbal communication capability, including preparing briefings and governance-level reports.
- Proficiency with reporting and data visualisation tools such as Power BI, Microsoft Fabric and Excel.
- Demonstrated leadership skills with the ability to uplift team capability.
