About the Role We are seeking an experienced Principal Portfolio Officer for a 12-month day rate contract. The role sits within a high-performing finance and digital team, providing leadership in financial modelling and analysis to support large-scale projects, budgeting cycles, and executive decision-making.
This position is suited to a commercially astute finance professional who can provide trusted insights, streamline reporting processes, and drive service delivery excellence.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead input, review, and analysis of six-monthly budget models
- Support preparation of annual budgets and forward estimates
- Deliver financial analysis for project and business case reviews
- Prepare financial performance reports for senior leadership and board papers
- Partner with development and project teams on financial management, including Estate Master software
- Ensure alignment between project and corporate financial ledgers
- Build and maintain financial models, dashboards, and analytical tools (Excel, Power BI, SQL)
- Respond to internal and external reporting requirements
- Strong experience in financial modelling, feasibility analysis, and business case development
- Advanced technical skills in Excel (macros, data manipulation), Power BI, and SQL
- Previous exposure to property or infrastructure projects (capital-intensive)
- Exceptional stakeholder engagement and communication skills
- Ability to deliver process improvements and efficiencies
- CPA/CA qualification (highly regarded)
