The Professional Development Advisor plays a pivotal role in fostering a culture of continuous learning and capability development across aged care services. This role is responsible for identifying training needs, designing and delivering professional development programs, and supporting staff in meeting regulatory and accreditation standards. Based in the Southern Suburbs of Brisbane, the Advisor will work closely with clinical and care teams to enhance service quality, workforce capability, and person-centered care outcomes.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Assess professional development needs across aged care teams, including clinical, care, hospitality, and support staff
  • Design, implement, and evaluate education and training programs aligned with industry best practice, legislative requirements, and organisational goals
  • Deliver engaging training sessions, both face-to-face and online, ensuring adult learning principles are embedded
  • Provide coaching, mentoring, and support to staff undertaking qualifications or transitioning into new roles
  • Monitor and maintain training records and mandatory compliance reports
  • Liaise with RTOs, industry bodies, and accreditation agencies to ensure ongoing alignment with sector standards and funding opportunities
  • Support continuous improvement initiatives, including audits, quality reviews, and incident response training
  • Collaborate with People & Culture and Clinical Governance teams to embed development pathways and succession planning strategies
Selection Criteria:
  • Prior experience as a L&D specialist  
  • Experience in the aged care or broader healthcare sector, with strong knowledge of Aged Care Quality Standards
  • Proven ability to design and deliver professional development programs
  • Excellent communication, facilitation, and interpersonal skills
  • Strong organisational and time management skills
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a multidisciplinary team
  • Knowledge of Learning Management Systems (LMS)
  • Experience in workforce planning or capability frameworks
