About the Role:

As a Design Coordinator, working as a second in charge to the Design Manager, you’ll play a pivotal role in facilitating the design process across our Design & Construct and Early Contractor Involvement  projects. Working closely with consultants and the internal project team, you will ensure that all design documentation is coordinated, accurate, and aligned with project briefs, budgets. This is a dynamic role suited to someone who thrives in a collaborative, fast-paced environment and enjoys being the central point of communication and organisation for design projects.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Serve as the primary point of contact and facilitator for assigned design projects under the oversight of the Design Manager.
  • Review Town Planning permits and coordinate the resolution of "Prior To" conditions.
  • Facilitate authority applications and approvals, tracking progress throughout the design phase.
  • Chair design meetings, including preparing, distributing, and filing minutes and lead workshops with consultants to coordinate specific design elements.
  • Review, mark up, and distribute feedback on consultant documentation to refine scope.
  • Manage project document control, including receipt, storage, and distribution of documentation to stakeholders.
  • Monitor project budgets, RFIs, and instructions (SIs) to identify risks, opportunities.
  • Collaborate with the project team on Building Permit applications and review design consultant progress claims, preparing internal progress reports for Design Manager approval.
Skills & Experience Required:
  • Tertiary education in Construction Management, Architecture, or a related discipline MUST.
  • Strong understanding of construction documentation with the ability to produce technical sketches for discussion and resolution.
  • Ability to operate autonomously within the design framework, with oversight from the Design Manager.
  • Excellent leadership, coordination, and communication skills (written, verbal, and graphic).
  • Experience with Bluebeam is preferred but not essential.
  • Project delivery experience is advantageous but not mandatory.
