Contact name : Orrin Huang

About the Company

Our client is Australia's leading supplier of custom precast concrete systems, delivering engineered solutions across some of the country's most complex and high-profile construction projects - from residential and infrastructure through to stadiums, bridges and data centres.

Operating out of a purpose-built facility in Acacia Ridge, the Queensland team has built a strong reputation for technical excellence, quality fabrication and reliable delivery. With a growing project pipeline and an expanding client base, the business is in a strong growth phase - and this role has been created to meet that demand head-on.

About the Role

This is a newly created Project Engineer position, born directly out of business growth and an increasing project workload. You'll join an established project team of five - sitting alongside a Project Coordinator and reporting into the Projects & Commercial Manager.

Where the Project Coordinator manages the client relationship and day-to-day communication, you are the technical authority. From tender award through to project close-out, your job is to make sure everything that was promised to the client actually gets delivered - correctly, on time and within budget.

In practice, that means:
  • Reviewing project documentation, specifications and scope of works to ensure full compliance with contractual obligations
  • Checking and validating precast shop drawings before manufacture - picking up errors and ensuring what gets built matches what was tendered
  • Assessing temporary works requirements including lifting points and propping, and coordinating certification prior to production
  • Coordinating drawing approvals, RFIs and construction programme updates with clients and builders
  • Actively identifying value engineering and cost-saving opportunities across the project lifecycle
  • Monitoring project budgets, flagging variations early and managing scope changes with documented evidence
  • Liaising with internal stakeholders - production, logistics, drafting - to ensure smooth handover and on-time delivery
  • Managing multiple concurrent projects with discipline and precision
This is a desk-based role with real technical depth. You'll be the person the team turns to when the engineering questions get hard.

Candidate Profile

You'll come from a civil or structural engineering background with solid exposure to the building and construction sector. We're open on where that experience has been gained - whether you've come through a structural or civil consultancy (think Arup, WSP, Aurecon or a strong boutique firm), or you've worked on the construction side with a clear engineering foundation.
What matters most is that you can take ownership of a project technically, juggle multiple workstreams without dropping the ball, and produce documentation that stands up to scrutiny.

You'll bring:
  • Full Australian working rights
  • A degree in Civil or Structural Engineering
  • Experience in building and construction, with an understanding of how projects are delivered on the ground
  • Strong project coordination and management capability - you're comfortable running multiple projects concurrently
  • Meticulous attention to detail when it comes to drawings, documentation and compliance
  • Clear, confident communication with both technical and non-technical stakeholders
Highly Regarded
  • RPEQ registration
  • Exposure to wind loading and its application in structural design
