They’re seeking an experienced Quality Assurance Manager to lead a site’s food safety and quality program, ensuring compliance with regulatory, customer, and industry standards.
This is a key leadership role reporting to the National QA Manager and plays a critical part in shaping and maintaining a strong food safety culture across the business.
About the role
In this hands-on leadership role, you’ll be responsible for overseeing all food safety and quality assurance activities at site level. Leading a dedicated QA team, you'll manage compliance systems, support audits and inspections, and work cross-functionally with departments such as Production and NPD to ensure continuous quality improvements. This is an opportunity to make a real impact in a high-performing team and contribute to the success of a well-established food manufacturing business.
Based out of a central Brisbane site, your core responsibilities will include maintaining and improving HACCP-based QA systems, leading internal and third-party audits, managing training programs, and driving site-wide continuous improvement initiatives. You’ll also oversee customer complaint management, supplier QA programs, and compliance with retailer and export standards, while supporting the nationalization of QA systems across the business.
Skills and experience
- Degree in Food Science, Microbiology, or a related discipline
- Minimum 5 years’ experience in food manufacturing QA, including at least 2 years in a leadership role
- Strong knowledge of HACCP, GMP, and retailer standards (Coles, Woolworths, ALDI, Costco)
- HACCP Certification (required), plus internal/external auditing skills
- Excellent problem-solving, communication, and leadership skills
- Ability to work across functions and manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment
