About the Role 
As a Chemist, you will ensure that all aspects of the location's quality management system are consistently implemented, aligning with TGA regulations and industry standards. This includes maintaining compliance with relevant legislation, documenting company procedures, and keeping accurate records of quality assurance, quality control, and operational activities. You will also assist in identifying and resolving quality issues, monitor inventory of critical consumables, and verify incoming goods.

In addition, you will support internal, external, and regulatory audits, including preparing responses to any deficiencies. The role involves conducting quality checks on customer products, managing equipment calibration and maintenance programs, and participating in routine maintenance and calibration of process equipment to ensure everything runs smoothly and meets high standards.

Skills & Experience 
  • Tertiary qualifications in Science or Biomedical Science, ideally with a major in Chemistry and/or Analytical Chemistry
  • 5–10 years’ experience within a pharmaceutical manufacturing environment, with a strong understanding and practical application of GMP requirements
  • Hands-on experience with analytical techniques including wet chemistry (titration), HPLC, GC, UV-Vis spectrophotometry, IR spectrophotometry, polarimetry, and Raman spectroscopy
  • Solid knowledge of Quality Management Systems, including ISO 9001 and ISO 13485, with exposure to TGA audits
  • Proven capability in analytical method development and validation across finished products and raw materials
  • Strong analytical thinking, problem-solving, and decision-making abilities
  • Excellent communication skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively across cross-functional teams
