This site delivers high-volume production across multiple product categories. The business is known for its strong culture of internal development and are looking for a quality manager to join the business based in the South West of Sydney.
About the Role
Following a recent restructure, an exciting new leadership opportunity has arisen for the role of Site Quality Manager. The successful candidate will take charge of quality assurance across multiple production areas, playing a key role in rebuilding and aligning the QA function. Reporting directly to the Head of Quality and working closely with senior leadership in the business, this role leads a team of 7 quality professionals across a variety of shifts.
We are seeking a hands-on leader who can also think strategically, driving QA systems, structure, and continuous improvement across the site. As the primary point of contact for QA-related escalations, food safety issues, and audit responses, you will be responsible for setting and executing the QA strategy, ensuring team capabilities across all shifts, and nurturing a strong food safety culture at the operational level.
Collaboration with departments such as operations, sanitation, maintenance, warehousing, and distribution is vital to success. The fast-paced manufacturing environment requires quick, confident decision-making, balancing compliance with practical solutions. Additionally, you will manage site readiness for customer, internal, and regulatory audits, focusing on continuous improvement and alignment with broader group QA standards.
Skills & Experience
- Proven leadership experience in QA within food manufacturing or FMCG environments
- Hands-on, operationally focused, with the ability to influence at all levels
- Strong knowledge of audit processes, customer standards, and compliance frameworks
- Exposure to QSR or high-compliance customer environments is highly regarded
- Excellent communication, adaptability, and decision-making under pressure
