About the Company
Our client is a leading food manufacturer with a strong national presence. The site has been running for over 25 years and employs more than 600 people, manufacturing a large range of chilled and ready to eat products. This large-scale operation is a high care facility, so runs daily washdowns across their complex production lines - making reliability and maintenance absolutely critical to site performance.
  
About the Role
This is a hands-on Reliability Engineer role that plays a hands on and highly visible part in improving equipment reliability, reducing repetitive breakdowns and driving smart, practical maintenance improvements.
  
You'll work closely with the Engineering, Maintenance and Production teams to stabilise asset performance, identifying root causes of recurring issues and implement solutions that prioritise operational practicality.
  
This role is all about being able to make an immediate impact on the plant floor by addressing current paint points and setting up the foundations for longer term reliability success.
  
Key Responsibilities
  • Analyse plant performance and recurring faults to develop targeted reliability initiatives.
  • Partner with operators, trades and technical teams to resolves breakdown issues and improve equipment uptime.
  • Challenge supplier recommendations where needed to ensure cost-effective, fit-for-purpose solutions.
  • Support maintenance planning, asset lifecycle reviews, and small capital or improvement projects.
  • Build trust and engagement on the floor through a visible, collaborative approach.
Skills and Experience
  • Degree or trade qualified background (Mechanical, Electrical or similar preferred)
  • Previous experience in high volume, fast-paced manufacturing (e.g. FMCG, food, beverage, packaging, building materials etc.)
  • Practical and hands on mindset, comfortable working with both operator-level and senior stakeholder level
  • Exposure to CI/lean methodology, root cause analysis tools.
  • Exposure to capital projects is advantageous but not essential.
