About the role: A fantastic opportunity for an experienced Senior Financial Accountant on an immediate notice has arisen within a start up organisation. This role for someone who is forward thinking and is confident driving change. The successful candidate will be responsible for ensuring the timely completion of month end tasks, and maintaining accurate and compliant financial records. Key Responsibilities:
- Deliver a timely and accurate month-end close across the P&L, balance sheet and cash flow.
- Maintain the general ledger and chart of accounts, including journals, accruals and prepayments.
- Manage revenue recognition in line with relevant accounting standards.
- Prepare variance analysis and clear commentary for senior leadership reporting.
- Perform daily reconciliations across multiple payment streams and investigate any exceptions.
- Maintain high-quality reconciliations for key balance sheet accounts, ensuring audit readiness.
- Prepare periodic financial schedules and manage settlement processes with external partners.
- Work closely with operations teams to track key metrics and support financial insights.
- Manage and optimise the finance systems stack (cloud accounting software, expense tools, payroll, BI reporting).
- Streamline and automate reconciliations, reporting processes and manual workflows.
- Collaborate with technology and data teams to ensure accurate and reliable financial data flows.
- Support budgeting and forecasting cycles.
- Run simple scenario analyses and contribute to financial modelling.
- Maintain financial models and update assumptions regularly.
- 4–7+ years’ experience in accounting, ideally gained in a dynamic, fast-paced or growing environment.
- CA/CPA qualified or nearing completion with solid knowledge of relevant accounting standards.
- Strong month-end and reconciliation experience, with confidence owning the GL end-to-end.
- Experience working with complex reconciliations or settlement processes (advantageous but not essential).
- Advanced Excel/Google Sheets skills and exposure to modern cloud accounting and BI tools.
- Excellent communication skills, with the ability to translate financial information into clear, actionable insights.
