The Organisation
Our client is a global business with strong ANZ growth and ongoing investment in systems and operational excellence. They are now seeking a Senior Accountant who can bring structure, insight, and reliability to a fast-moving commercial environment.

The Role
Reporting to the Head of Finance ANZ, this role acts as a key operational backbone to the finance function. As the Senior Accountant and 2IC, you will take ownership of day-to-day financial operations while supporting the delivery of accurate reporting, compliance, and continuous improvement initiatives.
The role blends financial administration, customer and commercial support, systems management, and FP&A assistance.
You’ll also play an important part in preparing the business for its upcoming SAP S/4 HANA implementation, ensuring data integrity and process readiness.

Key Responsibilities

Financial Operations & Compliance
  • Oversee core financial processes including AP monitoring, payment reviews, journals, and cash position management
  • Maintain accurate financial records and support statutory and tax compliance across AU/NZ
  • Support internal and external audit requirements and coordinate stocktake processes
  • Manage vendor onboarding, credit checks, insurance renewals, and contract registers
  • Provide support for BAS, payroll tax, FBT, income tax, workcover and related filings
Commercial & Customer Support
  • Work closely with commercial, supply chain and customer service teams to resolve billing, pricing, and master data issues
  • Manage customer-related financial activities including discounts, agreements, and promotional setups
  • Investigate revenue leakage, resolve invoicing issues, and maintain accurate product and customer data
Expense Management & Systems
  • Administer corporate card programs, fuel cards, E-tags and Concur expense systems
  • Produce expense reporting and insights using PowerBI, highlighting areas for cost control
  • Support process improvements and help strengthen internal controls
FP&A & Reporting Support
  • Assist with budgeting and forecasting cycles
  • Contribute to monthly P&L reviews and variance analysis with cost centre leaders
  • Support Capex planning and tracking
  • Assist in preparing financial insights for operational and strategic decision-making
Business Partnering & Process Improvement
  • Collaborate across the business to improve workflow efficiency and financial accuracy
  • Promote a proactive finance culture and support continuous improvement initiatives
  • Contribute to system optimisation efforts, including readiness for SAP S/4 HANA
The Ideal Candidate
  • Degree qualified in Accounting, Finance, or similar
  • 8–10+ years' experience across financial operations, accounting, or FP&A
  • Strong technical knowledge of AU/NZ accounting and compliance requirements
  • Proficient with ERP systems; SAP or S/4 HANA experience advantageous
  • Strong Excel skills and experience working with PowerBI or similar reporting tools
  • Confident communicator with the ability to partner across functions
  • Hands-on, detail-focused, and comfortable managing a broad scope of responsibilities
