The Company

Sharp & Carter are currently partnering with a manufacturing company North of the River to help source a Senior Financial Accountant.
This role will report directly to the CFO, with management responsibility of one staff member. Due to business growth this role has a clear pathway to progress your career with the organisation.    

The Role

The key responsibilities of the role include:
  • Monthly accounts (including commentary) to be completed within 14 days end of accounting period.
  • Preparation of company reporting within 5 days end of accounting period.
  • Bank and balance sheet reconciliations and scrutiny of P&L is required.
  • Ensure all purchases and overhead expenditure are within delegated authorities limits.
  • Ensure sound accounting policies are adopted and maintained.
  • Weekly net profit report and other periodical reports as required.
  • Processing of WA only payroll (~50 staff) to ensure timely and accurate payment of salaries and wages, and satisfaction of all payroll tax and Work Cover requirements.
  • Cashflow management – periodical cashflow forecasts, etc.
  • Ensure all tax compliance requirements are strictly maintained, including BAS lodgement/payment, PAYG withholding, PAYG instalments, FBT Return etc.
  • Coordinate with external accountant to ensure the timely reporting of annual financial statements and lodgement of income tax returns.
  • Team management – coaching and mentoring of staff members.
  • Assist CFO in managing insurance requirements of the Group.
  • Budget/forecasting preparation in conjunction with CFO.
  • Assist CFO in managing FX exposure.
About You
  • You are CA or CPA qualified.
  • Ability to develop strong working relationships.
  • Good commercial and business acumen.
  • Excellent communication skills – both written and verbal.
  • A keen eye for detail and the innate ability to pick up on anomalies, with a desire to seek explanation and understanding of such variances.
  • Manufacturing experience highly regarded.
