Reporting to the Head of Finance, this role plays a key part in ensuring accurate, timely, and compliant financial reporting. You will oversee core accounting functions, lead the preparation of key tax submissions, support audits, and drive continuous process enhancements. You will also work closely with both onshore and offshore teams and contribute to systems and process improvements across the finance function. The key responsibilities of your role will include but not be limited to the following.
- Lead preparation and submission of BAS, FBT and income tax returns
- Perform control checks to ensure accuracy and completeness of all lodgements.
- Oversee intercompany accounting, reconciliations, and foreign exchange adjustments.
- Manage month-end close, including journals, accruals, and cost allocations.
- Support audit processes and preparation of statutory financial statements.
- Maintain lease accounting records (IFRS 16) and payroll reconciliations.
- Identify and implement process improvements and support ERP upgrades.
- Collaborate effectively with offshore finance teams to ensure high-quality deliverables.
The Candidate
- Degree qualified in Accounting, Finance, or Business Administration.
- CA, CPA, or ACCA qualification (or working toward).
- Extensive experience in tax compliance—particularly BAS, FBT, and income tax returns.
- Solid grounding in financial accounting, statutory reporting, and audit support.
- Strong working knowledge of IFRS and Australian tax legislation.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Dynamics or a similar ERP system.
- Excellent attention to detail, analytical mindset, and stakeholder management skills.
- Ability to thrive under tight deadlines while maintaining accuracy and compliance.
