The Role
Reporting to the Finance and Commercial Manager, the Senior Financial Accountant will play a key role in ensuring accurate financial reporting, strong governance, and operational efficiency. You’ll lead a small, capable team while driving process improvements, enhancing financial controls, and supporting commercial decision-making.
Responsibilities
- Prepare monthly P&L and variance reports with insightful analysis
- Oversee balance sheet reconciliations and ensure financial control integrity
- Manage and maintain the fixed asset register and capital expenditure process
- Prepare weekly cash flow forecasts and payroll analysis reports
- Support budgeting, forecasting, and ad hoc financial projects
- Manage statutory compliance, including BAS, FBT, payroll tax, and audit deliverables
- Lead and mentor the Accounts Payable team to ensure timely and accurate processing
- Partner with stakeholders across the business to improve financial understanding and accountability
- Drive continuous process improvements to enhance efficiency and accuracy
- CA/CPA qualified with a degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field
- Minimum 5 years’ experience in financial accounting within a commercial environment
- Strong Excel and ERP systems experience
- Excellent attention to detail and ability to meet tight deadlines
- Proven leadership and team mentoring capability
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills
- Collaborative, proactive, and adaptable in a fast-paced environment
