We’re seeking a Senior Group Financial Accountant to join a high-performing finance team and play a key role in delivering accurate, timely, and insightful financial reporting for a complex corporate group.
The Opportunity
As a pivotal member of the Group Finance Control team, you’ll be responsible for ensuring the integrity of financial reporting, maintaining a robust control environment, and supporting executive decision-making through strategic financial insights. You’ll lead month-end close procedures, manage external audits, and prepare consolidated financial statements, while also driving process improvements and contributing to finance transformation initiatives.
Key Responsibilities:
Responsibilities include (but are not limited to):
- Lead month-end close, consolidation, and reporting processes.
- Prepare half-year and full-year consolidated financial statements.
- Develop board and audit committee materials summarising financial performance.
- Research and document complex technical accounting issues.
- Monitor changes in accounting standards and assess business impact.
- Maintain and enforce financial policies and procedures.
- Advise on accounting implications of business transactions and projects.
- Manage external audit coordination and liaise with auditors.
- Support internal audit and risk functions as needed.
- Drive improvements in financial planning, reporting, and analysis.
- Collaborate with IT on finance system operations and enhancements.
- Contribute to ad hoc projects and initiatives.
- CA/CPA qualified with 3+ years post-qualification experience.
- Big4 or Mid-Tier 2nd Movers highly encouraged!
- Strong understanding of financial reporting and technical accounting.
- In-depth knowledge of accounting standards and governance for ASX-listed entities.
- Proven experience in financial close, consolidation, and reporting.
- Excellent communication and stakeholder engagement skills.
- Skilled in financial modelling and proficient in Excel and financial systems (Microsoft Dynamics 365 experience highly regarded).
- Ability to manage multiple priorities under tight deadlines.
