The Company

We’re seeking a Senior Group Financial Accountant to join a high-performing finance team and play a key role in delivering accurate, timely, and insightful financial reporting for a complex corporate group.

The Opportunity

As a pivotal member of the Group Finance Control team, you’ll be responsible for ensuring the integrity of financial reporting, maintaining a robust control environment, and supporting executive decision-making through strategic financial insights. You’ll lead month-end close procedures, manage external audits, and prepare consolidated financial statements, while also driving process improvements and contributing to finance transformation initiatives.

Key Responsibilities:

Responsibilities include (but are not limited to):
  • Lead month-end close, consolidation, and reporting processes.
  • Prepare half-year and full-year consolidated financial statements.
  • Develop board and audit committee materials summarising financial performance.
  • Research and document complex technical accounting issues.
  • Monitor changes in accounting standards and assess business impact.
  • Maintain and enforce financial policies and procedures.
  • Advise on accounting implications of business transactions and projects.
  • Manage external audit coordination and liaise with auditors.
  • Support internal audit and risk functions as needed.
  • Drive improvements in financial planning, reporting, and analysis.
  • Collaborate with IT on finance system operations and enhancements.
  • Contribute to ad hoc projects and initiatives.
Key Requirements:
  • CA/CPA qualified with 3+ years post-qualification experience.
  • Big4 or Mid-Tier 2nd Movers highly encouraged!
  • Strong understanding of financial reporting and technical accounting.
  • In-depth knowledge of accounting standards and governance for ASX-listed entities.
  • Proven experience in financial close, consolidation, and reporting.
  • Excellent communication and stakeholder engagement skills.
  • Skilled in financial modelling and proficient in Excel and financial systems (Microsoft Dynamics 365 experience highly regarded).
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities under tight deadlines.
