Our client is seeking a Senior Network Engineer to serve as the technical authority for all aspects of our network services. From day-to-day support to vendor management, technical project planning, and cybersecurity, this role plays a pivotal role in ensuring the smooth operation of our clients infrastructure. 


Required Experience

• Experience in managing a network running Internet of Things devices, Operational Technology, SCADA systems and non-corporate workloads.
• Excellent knowledge of core networking technologies and concepts. A proven capability to configure and support these concepts. (DNS, DHCP, BGP, MC-LAG, OSPF, PTP, IGMP, RSTP, iSCSI, SNMP, LACP, NetFlow, VRRP, ARP, QoS, etc.)
• Experience providing networking support to enterprise technology deployments such as VMWare Hyper-converged infrastructure solutions, Microsoft Azure cloud environments, stand-alone infrastructure solutions that require nic-teaming or similar configurations.

Responsibilities:
  • Oversee day-to-day operations of network services, including remote site attendance and familiarity with physical network configurations at each venue.
  • Provide consultation to stakeholders regarding network design implications on building projects, event delivery, and business-as-usual (BAU) operations.
  • Supervise and lead the Network and Systems Support Officer, manage contracted service providers, and provide technical guidance to junior network resources.
  • Perform network-related tasks at various venues across Queensland, including equipment installation, service provisioning, fault inspection, and resolution.
Qualifications:
  • Extensive experience in network engineering with a strong background in LAN, WAN, wireless infrastructure, and cloud services networking.
  • Proficiency in network security solutions, including firewalls, remote access, network access control, and associated infrastructure.
  • Hands-on experience with critical cabling infrastructure, power protection solutions, and data centre maintenance/design.
  • Ability to analyze and resolve complex networking issues, including cybersecurity incidents, within suitable timeframes.
  • Excellent leadership skills with the ability to inspire, support, and collaborate with team members.
