As the Payroll Systems Administrator, you will play a pivotal role in enhancing and maintaining the organisation’s payroll technology, Payglobal. This role sits at the intersection of technical system expertise and operational support, ensuring payroll systems run seamlessly for a large and complex workforce.
Role Responsibilities
Reporting to the Payroll Systems Manager, your responsibilities will include:
- Acting as the key liaison between payroll processing teams and organisational leadership
- Owning the maintenance, configuration, and optimisation of all payroll‑related software (with a focus on Payglobal)
- Providing day to day systems support, fault resolution, and troubleshooting
- Ensuring compliance with internal governance, change control, and audit requirements
- Managing payroll system upgrades, patches, releases, and associated user acceptance testing
- Monitoring and resolving data, interface, and workflow issues
- Maintaining and improving payroll workflows and documentation
- Supporting continuous improvement initiatives across payroll systems
- Performing additional duties as requested by leadership
You will bring both technical depth and strong stakeholder engagement capability. The ideal candidate will have:
- Advanced, hands on expertise in Payglobal (essential), plus exposure to complementary payroll or HRIS platforms
- Strong business and commercial acumen, with the ability to understand impacts across finance and people systems
- Solid understanding of Awards, EBA interpretation, and relevant legislation
- Proven ability to operate across diverse stakeholder groups, including payroll, finance, IT, and HR
- A proactive mindset, with the ability to identify issues early and drive system improvements
