A highly regarded Australian engineering and technology organisation, based in Melbourne, is seeking an accomplished Senior Project & Delivery Manager to lead and drive the successful delivery of complex, multi-disciplinary projects. With a focus on advanced manufacturing and integrated product systems, this role will appeal to a seasoned delivery leader with strong technical acumen and proven expertise managing engineering or defence programs end-to-end.
About the role:
This position has responsibility for overseeing both Development and Delivery programs, ensuring all projects are executed on time, on budget, and to specification. The successful candidate will provide governance, process leadership, and operational oversight across project management and production functions, with direct line management of Projects and Operations.
Key accountabilities include:
- Leading project teams to deliver complex engineering or production projects within budget, scope, and schedule.
- Coordinating project and production resources to meet delivery demands.
- Driving continuous improvement in production processes and project governance.
- Overseeing risk management, reporting, scheduling, and performance monitoring.
- Representing the organisation with customers to ensure satisfaction and successful outcomes.
- Coaching and supporting delivery managers to strengthen internal capability and performance standards.
This appointment requires a proactive and commercially astute leader who thrives in dynamic manufacturing or defence environments. You will demonstrate a strong balance of people leadership, project governance, and technical understanding.
The ideal candidate will have:
- Tertiary qualifications in Engineering or Project Management.
- A minimum of 5 years’ experience managing complex design, development, or production projects.
- Solid experience within a manufacturing, engineering, or defence environment.
- Demonstrated ability to lead diverse technical teams and manage multiple project streams.
- Excellent communication, analytical and stakeholder management skills.
- Australian citizenship (eligible for or holding a current NV1 Security Clearance desirable).
