About the role

The Team Leader is responsible for supervising day-to-day packing operations and providing clear direction to a team of operators. You will ensure production schedules, operating instructions, and shift tasks are completed safely, efficiently, and in line with quality and regulatory standards.
You will lead by example on safety, performance, and behaviour, while working collaboratively across departments to achieve daily production targets and continuous improvement objectives.

Roster: rotating 12-hour shifts across a 24/7 operation

Location: Northern suburbs, Brisbane

Key responsibilities
  • Lead and promote a strong safety culture in line with WHS requirements
  • Ensure compliance with GMP, HACCP, and site quality standards
  • Supervise automated packing lines to achieve throughput, efficiency, and OEE targets
  • Optimise labour allocation and support effective shift handovers
  • Work closely with maintenance on fault-finding and troubleshooting
  • Coach, develop, and manage performance of packing operators
  • Maintain high housekeeping, hygiene, and audit readiness standards
  • Support continuous improvement initiatives across the packing function
The ideal candidate for this position will have experience in the following:
  • Leadership within a process manufacturing or automated packing environment
  • FMCG, food manufacturing, milling, or packaging operations (highly regarded)
  • Mechanical aptitude with exposure to automation, sensors, PLCs, or fault-finding
  • Working collaboratively with maintenance, QA, and logistics teams
  • Continuous improvement frameworks such as LEAN, TPM, or 5S
  • Strong communication, judgement, and people leadership capability
  • High-risk forklift licence
