We are currently partnering with a Global ASX Listed business that is undergoing a significant Supply Global Chain transformation. Sitting within a highly collaborative team of experts, a 6-month contract opportunity (with potential to go permanent) presents itself for a highly analytical, strategic and commercially astute Supply Chain expert, that has a passion for driving best-in-class supply chain operations within highly complex environments.


Job Overview:
As a Supply Chain Commercial Business Partner, you will play a pivotal role in the organization's strategic decision-making process by collaborating closely with the General Manager of Supply Chain, Finance, and the Executive Leadership Team (ELT). This highly analytical and strategic position focuses on optimizing distribution and transport infrastructure from inbound sea and land freight from suppliers all the way through to outbound servicing of volume to stores and branches. The primary objective is to provide critical commercial insights that support long-term strategic growth and cost optimization throughout the Supply Chain network.


Key Responsibilities:
  1. Strategic Collaboration:
    • Partner with the GM of Supply Chain, Finance, and ELT to understand organizational goals and align Supply Chain strategies with broader business objectives.
    • Collaborate cross-functionally to drive the development and execution of comprehensive supply chain strategies.
  2. Logistics and Distribution Management:
    • Oversee and analyze Logistics and Distribution activities, including domestic Freight and DC Operations.
    • Evaluate current processes and identify opportunities for optimization, efficiency improvement, and cost reduction.
  3. 3PL Contract Management:
    • Manage and enhance relationships with third-party logistics providers, ensuring adherence to service level agreements and driving continuous improvement initiatives.
    • Negotiate and review 3PL contracts to ensure alignment with business objectives and cost-effectiveness.
  4. Commercial Insights:
    • Utilize data analytics and market intelligence to provide critical commercial insights to the ELT.
    • Develop and present comprehensive reports, highlighting key performance indicators, trends, and recommendations for strategic decision-making.
  5. Cost Optimization:
    • Work closely with Finance to identify cost-saving opportunities within the Supply Chain network.
    • Develop and implement strategies to optimize costs while maintaining operational excellence.
  6. Risk Management:
    • Assess and mitigate risks related to logistics, distribution, and 3PL contracts.
    • Stay informed about industry trends, regulatory changes, and emerging risks affecting the supply chain.
Qualification:
  • Bachelor's degree in Business, Supply Chain Management, or a related field; MBA preferred.
  • Proven experience in a strategic supply chain role
  • Strong analytical and commercial insights expertise 
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills, with the ability to influence and engage stakeholders at all levels.
  • Demonstrated experience in contract negotiation and vendor management.
  • Strategic thinking and problem-solving abilities.
