This 12-month contract role (with the potential for extension) will support the successful delivery of key operational and system initiatives across the business. Reporting to the CFO and working closely with the broader executive team, the Project Accountant will help guide users through systems, coordinate vendor activities, and ensure projects are delivered smoothly and effectively.
Key Responsibilities
- Coordinate and manage day-to-day aspects of multiple projects across retail, operations, supply chain, and technology functions
- Collaborate with stakeholders to define project scope, objectives, deliverables, and success criteria
- Engage with end users to understand current workflows, identify process gaps, and support the transition to improved systems and practices
- Support the CFO and executive team in the evaluation, selection, and ongoing management of third-party vendors and consultants
- Drive the collection of user requirements and process insights to support the planning and execution of project initiatives
- Assist in delivering change management activities, including the development of training materials, delivery of workshops, and provision of go-live and hypercare support
- Coordinate user acceptance testing (UAT), tracking issues and ensuring prompt resolution
- Monitor project progress and proactively identify and mitigate risks, dependencies, and roadblocks
- Prepare and present regular progress updates to internal stakeholders, ensuring transparency and alignment across the business
- Document and share lessons learned through post-implementation reviews, supporting continuous improvement across future projects
- Foster strong working relationships across departments, acting as a liaison between all teams, operational users, and leadership
Ideal Candidate Profile
- 3–4 years’ experience in a project / systems accountant role
- Tertiary qualified in finance and accounting
- Strong exposure to system implementations, ideally across WMS, PLM, or ERP systems (e.g., Apparel21, SAP, NetSuite, .WMS)
- Confident in gathering information, understanding operational workflows, and mapping requirements
- Confident in supporting users through change
- Comfortable working alongside senior leaders and external vendors
- Clear communicator with strong stakeholder engagement skills
