Our client is a well-known energy company seeking an experienced Tax Manager to join its finance team. You’ll be responsible for ensuring accurate and timely delivery of all tax compliance and tax effect accounting obligations for the Group. You’ll also provide tax advisory support to business stakeholders and play a key role in managing tax risk, governance, and process improvement initiatives. This is a great opportunity for a Big 4 second mover to work alongside the Head of Tax. You will be an enthusiastic operator with a growth mindset involved in the technical space of tax compliance and advisory working with the broader business.
Duties
- Prepare half-year and year-end tax effect accounting calculations and disclosures
- Coordinate and prepare Group income tax returns, BAS, and FBT returns
- Liaise with internal finance teams and external advisors to gather compliance information
- Dealing with matters relating to indirect tax, R&D and transfer pricing issues
- Provide technical tax support and ensure compliance with all tax-related policies
- Monitor changes in tax legislation and assess business impacts
- Assist with audits by revenue authorities and forecasting of cash tax payments
- Provide tax advice on business initiatives, transactions, and restructuring activities
- Identify and implement process improvements and system enhancements
- CA / CPA Qualified
- Big 4 / mid-tier first or second mover
- Extensive knowledge of Australian tax compliance
- Growth mindset with career ambition
- Excellent communication to liaise with a broad range of stakeholders
- Self-motivated to drive function improvement and work autonomously
- Experience with CCH Integrator highly regarded
