Our client is a large industry-leading FMCG food manufacturer, with household names. They have a strong emphasis on innovation to ensure they are producing to the most efficient and highest quality. They are seeking a skilled Utilities Engineer to join their Melbourne facility.


About the Role:

The Utilities Engineer is responsible for leading and coaching infrastructure maintenance contractors to ensure the seamless operation and sustainability of the production site. This role focuses on maintaining high safety and quality standards, driving sustainability initiatives, and managing contractor performance. The Utilities Engineer works closely with internal and external stakeholders to support site operations, optimise resource use, and ensure compliance with all regulatory and company policies. 

Key Responsibilities:
  • Lead and manage a diverse team of infrastructure maintenance contractors.
  • Maintain and implement preventative and reactive maintenance plans.
  • Ensure compliance with HSE and GMP quality standards.
  • Oversee repair and maintenance tasks, ensuring timely and high-quality service.
  • Implement and support sustainability projects focused on waste reduction and energy conservation.
  • Conduct regular safety and quality audits and take corrective actions as needed.
  • Manage departmental budgets, controlling contractor spending and resource utilization.
  • Coordinate with utilities providers to optimize energy and resource use.

The Ideal Candidate:
  • Proven experience in a similar role within manufacturing or supply chain.
  • Preferably a Bachelor’s degree or equivalent in engineering, or a related field.
  • Excellent communication and collaboration abilities.
  • Ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment.
  • Experience with managing budgets and developing maintenance plans.
