This is an exciting opportunity for a commercially minded Accountant to take ownership of financial operations, reporting and analysis while partnering closely with senior stakeholders across the business.
The Role
Reporting to the Head of Finance, you will be responsible for the day-to-day management of financial operations, ensuring accurate reporting, strong financial controls and compliance across multiple entities. You will contribute to strategic planning, budgeting and forecasting while supporting leadership with insightful financial analysis.
Key Responsibilities
- Assist with annual budgeting and multi-year forecasting processes
- Prepare detailed variance analysis and performance insights
- Identify trends, risks and opportunities to support decision-making
- Oversee general ledger, accounts payable, accounts receivable and payroll functions
- Maintain strong internal controls, policies and procedures
- Drive process improvements and operational efficiencies
- Prepare monthly, quarterly and annual financial statements (P&L, Balance Sheet, Cash Flow)
- Coordinate external audits, tax submissions and statutory reporting requirements
- Ensure compliance with accounting standards and regulatory obligations
- Partner with department leaders to improve financial literacy and accountability
- Act as the key finance contact for external auditors, banks and advisors
- Lead and mentor finance team members
The Candidate
You are a proactive and detail-oriented finance professional who thrives in a fast-paced retail environment. You enjoy working collaboratively and are passionate about delivering high-quality financial outcomes.
- CA or CPA qualified or currently completing
- Degree in Accounting or Finance
- 2+ years’ experience in a similar role (retail or fashion industry experience highly regarded)
- Advanced Excel skills and strong Microsoft Office capability
- Experience AP21 or payroll systems is advantageous but not essential
- Excellent communication and stakeholder engagement skills
- Strong analytical mindset with a passion for continuous improvement
