This is a unique opportunity to join the head office finance team in Melbourne, where you’ll play a key role in managing the commercial finance function in Australia and reporting results through to APAC.
About the Role:
Reporting to the Australian Finance Director, the Accounting Manager overseas all reporting to the APAC region and leads all operational accounting across the Australian business.
Responsibilities:
APAC Reporting
- Lead weekly APAC reporting, including lodgement, analysis, and presentation to regional leadership.
- Provide meaningful insights that support decision‑making across the business.
- Own the end‑to‑end commissions function for Australia.
- Lead, coach, and develop the Finance Analyst, ensuring accurate and timely commission calculations.
- Oversee reviews completed by the Finance Analyst and Financial Accountant.
- Maintain and update the Australian commissions policy to ensure alignment with business strategy.
- Manage day‑to‑day cashflow operations, including preparation of daily cash reporting.
- Deliver weekly cashflow forecasts to the Group.
- Review and assess new customer and supplier applications in partnership with the Finance Director.
- Lead the Accounts Receivable function, working closely with the AR Manager.
- Monitor debtor balances and ensure proactive resolution of overdue accounts.
- Strengthen credit controls while balancing commercial outcomes.
- Lead financial management for the Professional Services business line.
- Oversee revenue recognition, journals, balance sheet integrity, and month‑end close.
- Deliver budgets, forecasts, and utilisation‑based revenue analysis to management.
- Drive improvement in efficiencies and ensure alignment with POC reporting requirements.
- Oversee preparation of fixed asset registers, IFRS 16 lease reporting, and supporting journals.
- Manage new and existing leases in collaboration with the Finance Director.
- Ensure accurate balance sheet reconciliations and compliance with accounting standards.
- Prepare and review key balance sheet reconciliations to ensure accuracy, completeness, and strong financial governance.
Skills and Experience:
- CA/CPA qualified
- Proven team management skills, with the ability to motivate and develop high-performing teams.
- Extensive consolidation and reporting experience in a complex environment.
- Strong stakeholder management skills and experience working with senior leadership.
- Advanced Excel skills
- Excellent attention to detail and ability to prioritize effectively in a fast-paced setting.
