The Position

An opportunity has become available for an Assistant Accountant at a high profile property organisation within the Brisbane CBD. This organisation has a long history of specialist design living and represents a strong market presence in property development. 

This role will allow you to apply and develop your strong finance capabilities across transactional accounting, project accounting, banking and managing financials relating to property settlements (etc). This permanent full-time position will see you work closely with a high performing CFO as you enhance and develop your career in finance. 


Key Responsibilities

Reporting to the CFO, your responsibilities will include, however are not limited to:
  • Manage and process accounts payable and receivable transactions;
  • Support all month-end processes and year-end financial obligations;
  • Manage payroll function for the group including superannuation, tax and reporting;
  • Assist with all budgeting and cash flow preparation;
  • Support project accounting duties including, reporting, reconciliation of accounts and drawdown requests;
  • Daily bank and intercompany reconciliations and review of financials relating to property settlements.

Skills and Experience

As the suitable candidate for this position, you will have demonstrated experience as a Finance Officer, Accounts Officer, Assistant Accountant or Accountant with a keen interest in the property industry. 

In addition, you will demonstrate:
  • Proficient with Microsoft Excel and ability to learn new systems and processes with ease;
  • Ability to problem solve and show initiative;
  • Effective and adaptive interpersonal communication skills;
  • High attention to detail, with the ability to recognise inconsistencies and make adjustments.
