The Role
In this role, reporting into the Senior Development Manager for the Western region, the Assistant Development Manager will have responsibility to assist both the DM/SDM in the implementation of the company’s property development strategy in accordance with company objectives as well as drive smaller projects. Key responsibilities will include:
- Support the development team in the management & procurement of consultants and contractors, and assist in managing their performance and administer their agreements
- Manage negotiations and agreements with development partners, authorities, and government agencies, as directed by DM/SDM
- Assist in project planning including, sales, design, and infrastructure build
- Develop and manage management plans and ensure we and our contractors meet OH&S obligations
- Report project issues, project performance and team issues to the SDM and/or GM Development
- Work closely with marketing team to ensure performance, delivery, meeting budget and alignment with strategy
- Work effectively with our agents, builder partners and other consultants and community members to get the best outcomes for the project at every level
- Manage the communication of project issues, project performance and team issues to the DM/SDM and/or GM Development
- Support and/or manage, as directed, feasibility / cash flow models, analyse development options, forecast sales, pricing and delivery and assess project return on investment on assigned developments
- Attend relevant meetings with Councils and Authorities with DM/SDM to negotiate outcomes.
About You
This role will suit candidates with the following background and experience:
- Tertiary qualifications in Property, Planning, Finance, Civil, Engineering or Valuation
- Advantage to have experience managing projects, or part of a team managing projects, involving significant civil or built form design or construction
- 3+ years demonstratable experience in delivering residential land developments
- Advantage to have previous experience in planning, organising and coordinating development, design, construction and marketing of land developments
