About the Role

An exciting opportunity exists for a motivated and relationship‑driven Business Development Manager to join a leading provider of premium tents and mobile cooking solutions within the wider outdoor & vehicle-lifestyle market. A key focus of this role is driving growth through strong commercial partnerships across retail environments, particularly outdoor and camping retailers, while identifying new opportunities and supporting customers with tailored solutions.

You’ll be the key point of contact from lead generation and proposal development through to negotiation, onboarding, and sell‑through support. You will also play a critical part in lifting in‑store presence and merchandising standards across your retail accounts. Duties
  • Develop and maintain strong relationships with B2B customers, including key partners in retail environments, acting as their primary contact for product and service needs.
  • Seek out new business opportunities within your territory—across both new markets and existing retail channels—to grow market share and revenue.
  • Understand customer requirements and present tailored proposals, product‑range presentations, and commercial solutions.
  • Implement strategic sales plans to achieve targets and drive growth across tents and mobile cooking categories.
  • Provide accurate sales forecasting to support planning and go‑to‑market processes.
  • Coordinate promotional activities and manage retail and showroom displays to maximise product visibility and sell‑through.
  • Organise and attend trade shows, open days, and industry networking sessions (including some weekends).
  • Deliver regular pipeline reporting, KPIs, and insights for sales strategy meetings.
  • Monitor market trends, competitor activity, and customer feedback to support strategic planning and product conversations.
  • Work cross‑functionally with product, finance, marketing, operations, and broader sales teams to deliver seamless customer experiences.
  • Travel regularly to engage with current and prospective customers, planning trips effectively to maximise outcomes.
Skills & Experience
  • Proven success in B2B sales or business development—ideally within the outdoor, camping, lifestyle, or 4x4 accessories market.
  • Experience selling into retail environments, with strong advantage given to those who have worked with outdoor lifestyle or camping retailers.
  • Strong consultative selling skills with the ability to influence decision‑makers and build trusted, long‑term customer relationships.
  • Excellent communication, negotiation, and presentation capabilities.
  • Strong skills in sales planning, forecasting, and CRM use.
  • Ability to work independently, manage time effectively, and operate within a territory structure.
  • Technical aptitude across tents, mobile cooking systems, and broader outdoor equipment.
  • Willingness to travel regularly; current driver’s licence required.
  • A genuine passion for camping and the outdoors will be highly valued.
