About the role
- Lead and execute national and regional category strategies that deliver sustainable value, reduce risk and support long-term business objectives.
- Own end-to-end sourcing activity from supplier identification, cost analysis and tender management through to negotiation and recommendations for contract approval.
- Develop and maintain cost models, lead tenders, run evaluations and negotiations, and execute contracts with cross-functional teams.
- Drive procurement improvement projects, including documentation, templates, spend analytics, performance reports and buying guides.
- Establish and manage vendor performance frameworks, including claims, discounts, rebates and service levels.
- Identify key supply risks, develop mitigation and contingency plans, and ensure compliance with internal procurement, safety and quality standards.
- Build strong relationships with stakeholders, acting as a trusted advisor on process, preferred suppliers, risk and compliance.
- Tertiary qualifications in Business, Supply Chain & Operations, Commerce, Engineering, Law, Finance or similar.
- 7+ years’ relevant procurement/category management experience, ideally within complex, multi-site or industrial environments.
- Highly analytical, confident using data and tools to interpret information and provide clear insights and recommendations.
- Strong influencing, stakeholder management and change leadership skills, with the resilience to manage multiple projects and deadlines.
- Solid understanding of procurement risk management and governance.
