The Role | Reporting into the CFO

Specific areas of focus and responsibilities will include but not limited to:

Business Partnering
  • Actively participate in department leadership meetings, sharing financial performance, budget expectations and highlighting areas of concern.
  • Share data and financial insights with department leaders to assist in their financial success.
  • Actively support department leaders with stocktakes, COG analysis and analysis of variances to budget.
  • Advise on strategic and business planning including continuous review of functions to identify opportunities for cost savings, process, and control improvements within business units.
Management Accounting

Responsibility for the timely preparation and accurate reporting of financial results including but not limited to:
  • Detailed analytical review of monthly financial results including investigating unusual variances and preparing relevant commentary and supplementary reports / analytics.
  • Preparation of balance sheet reconciliations for all accounts.
  • Monthly presentation senior leadership financial performance vs. budget.
  • Preparation of an annual budget including variance analysis to prior year.
  • Bi-annual reforecasting, ensuring all costs are controlled and expenditure is accurately reported for each operating unit.
External Compliance, Fixed Asset, and Group Accounting
  • Preparation and lodgement of PAYG / BAS / IAS returns
  • Assist HR with processing payroll compliance including Superannuation, Payroll Tax, Workcover Insurance
  • Maintenance of fixed asset registers to ensure depreciation is applied correctly and any new expenditure is either capitalised or expensed correctly.
  • Assist with preparing information for the external accounts in relation to the Company’s annual Income Tax return and FBT Return.
  • Assist CFO with ad hoc requests from the Executive Team.
Candidate Profile

CPA/CA qualified, you will have excellent influencing and stakeholder management skills, in addition to a demonstrated capability of meeting strict deadlines and autonomously resolving issues.

You will possess advanced level MS Excel skills, including the use of Charts, Pivot tables, and lookup formula.

Although not essential, ideally you will have 4 years of prior experience within the hospitality industry and have previously mentored junior team members.
